We Are: Madeleine Gonte, B.S.

Madeleine Gonte is an MPH-45 student at Harvard Chan with a concentration in global health to study maternal child health, reproductive justice, and surgical health interventions in low and middle-income countries. Maddi is also a fourth-year medical student from Detroit, Michigan, and is pursuing plastic surgery residency programs. Having been part of interventions to improve patient outcomes for underserved women in Detroit, she is excited to apply these experiences to projects at the PROVE center. Her current projects include evaluating a postpartum hemorrhage care bundle intervention in Kenya, analyzing a patient education module for genetic screening at prenatal care visits, and investigating pain resolution post-hysterectomy for chronic pelvic pain. She is inspired by the PROVE center’s dedication to patient-centered care and patient-reported outcome measures from an equity standpoint. In her free time, she loves to travel, practice yoga, bake sourdough bread, and paint with oils!
