SEMINAR: The Value of Context in Patient-Reported Outcomes Research and Clinical Care Applications

Over the past 10 years, there has been a considerable increase in use of Patient-Reported Outcomes to both inform individual cancer patient care and better understand population health. This talk will highlight where these areas overlap: (1) examining patient engagement barriers and the potential tailored symptom reports for cancer patients, and (2) current work examining the relationship between neighborhood-level social risk and PRO outcomes.

Dr. Roxanne Jensen is a psychometrician and health service researcher with an interest in clinical informatics and digital health to improve care quality and health outcomes of cancer patients and survivors. This includes the integration of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in clinical care settings, application of machine learning to predict and monitor symptoms, function, and health outcomes trajectories, and telehealth use within clinical workflows.
